Need a quick and easy outline to teach a Family History class? Grab the course outline, Powerpoint presentation and a hand out all right here!
In an effort to help anyone who may be searching for a simple outline for a Family History Class, I have made one for you! I spent countless hours researching and trying to find a curriculum, but none really existed.
The needs for the Family History Class that I am teaching are as follows:
- 4 week course
- simple, yet interactive
- includes ways to involve Youth leaders
- end goal is to have every member of the class find a family member to take to the temple and feel confident in repeating the process on their own.
I have compiled these lesson outlines with Powerpoint presentations, videos, and activities for each week. The third class covers all things related to Possible Duplicates and Merging, as well as finding and reserving ordinances to take to the temple.
Hopefully by using both the blog posts and the Powerpoint Presentation together everything is fairly self-explanatory. Please feel free to leave any comments below and I will answer them!

Even if you aren’t a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Family History is still for you! The goal for our class is to take a family member to the temple, but even if this is not your goal, FamilySearch is available to everyone regardless of religious preference at NO COST! You can expand your family tree and gain access to an expansive cache of resources, tools, and records.
Seriously, I can’t even tell you how excited I am to share this! I hope that many people who are interested in getting started in Family History, but just don’t know how to begin will find this and utilize it!
