Are you ready for the Deep Clean Challenge for this month? March is the month to deep clean bedrooms. I posted about this before, but I have updated the checklists to make it even easier than before this month.
If you are new to the Deep Cleaning Challenges, you can check out January and February to get all caught up. I usually rotate through different rooms in my house organizing and keeping things from getting too dirty. This time around has been different though as I am trying my hand at applying the KonMari Method to my deep cleaning. It has been incredibly freeing, and I hope you find the results to be the same for you!
When I think of a bedroom, I think of a place that is like an oasis. A safe place where you can go to think and have some alone time. In order to keep bedrooms this way, we have reinforced that bedrooms are for beds and toy rooms are for toys. Each bedroom has a bookshelf where they can store some books and a box of their special things.
All of our kids share bedrooms which can make the alone time hard, but because all the fun stuff is social areas of the house, there’s not much of a draw for the kids to be in their rooms. Clearing toys out of bedrooms also helps reduce distractions at bed time and nap time.
Deep Clean Bedroom Checklist:
I simplified this list a little from last time so all you have to do is fill in which bedroom the checklist is for: Master bedroom, Girls room, Boys room, Guest room, etc. Just print off as many copies as you need for the amount of bedrooms in your home. If you have a bedroom that you are currently using as a home office, this would be a great time to deep clean that room as well. Our office is part of a main living area, so I have already completed my Deep Clean Office checklist.
I know not everyone changes out their clothing for the seasons. I do this for the kids so they are wearing the appropriate clothing for the season. No need to put holes in pants during the summer time or freeze wearing short sleeves in the winter. I personally keep all my clothing out year round.
Happy cleaning!
