Have you ever tried shopping for a bridesmaid dress with kids? After spending all day at the mall with my kids I was not able to find a dress that fit me and matched the colors. Discouraged and with a looming deadline, I looked on Pinterest and realized that convertible dresses are very popular as bridesmaid dresses.

Have you heard of the convertible dresses, or infinity dresses? I fell in love with these dresses when I saw this video:
I have always thought these dresses were pretty cool because you can change the look and wear the dress so many different ways. However, I was nervous about how well the dress would hold up carrying kids around. After searching around online, I found a dress through Ivon L.A., (not an affiliate link) a convertible dress company that I stumbled upon through a Google search. I browsed their clearance dresses and found one in the exact color I needed for $19!!!
I got the convertible maxi in eggplant. My total came to a whopping $24 with shipping and it got to my house 2 days later. I was super impressed! I enjoyed looking at the variety of items that they had available on their website. There were pantsuits, long sleeved dresses, high-low dresses, and patterned dresses. (I thought this one was especially cute.)
There were a couple of things that did surprise me about the dress. I thought that it would have a waistband, which it did not. That would explain why the dress only came in one size. The dress had a seam down the back of it, so I wasn’t able to do any of the styles on the above video where she flips the dress around backward. But the best thing in the whole entire world: The dress was SO LONG! I am 5’8″ and have never had a dress touch the floor in my entire life. I could have worn some pretty amazing heals with this dress and it still would have touched the floor. It was amazing!
UPDATE: I recently checked Ivon L.A.’s website again and the prices have gone up a bit and the selection has gone down. I checked on Amazon though, and they have quite a wide variety now. They even have some in the popular floral print patterns!
If you love these dresses, but are wanting it to cover a little more skin up top, you can easily do what I did and I just sew a shirt to go underneath it! This was super nice to also not have to worry about a wardrobe malfunction while carting around the kiddos.
All in all, I LOVED having a dress that was so long and flowy. I also love that each time I wear this dress it can be a totally different look. In fact, I was so excited that I had found a dress that would work so perfectly that I let the other bridesmaids know. When we showed up to the wedding, not one dress looked exactly the same. The colors matched, but the styles were unique to each person!
